I am from the Golden State of California. Lots of folks think that California isn't a "Country music kind of State". This is not the case, especially in my family. My Dad used to listen to Alabama and Willie Nelson while my Mom was more of a Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers kinda gal. This of course led me to my love of Johnny Cash, Goerge Jones and Loretta Lynn.

I began my career in Radio working at a Top 40 station in Los Angeles. I moved around California for a few years as most Disc Jockey's do. This allowed me to meet my future Husband-to-Be, Randy. It also allowed me to get back into Country Music and more imporatntly Country Radio! :

I moved to Nashville a couple of years ago to work at WSM-FM and really was able to explore my love of Country Music. I had a blast while I was there! I went to countless Opry shows, I hosted a show at The Historic Ryman Auditorium...

I met two of my idols in Country Music: Dwight Yoakam and Merle Haggard...
And I discovered that Country Stars are just regular 'ole people like you and me. Most of them very sweet too!

I just got engaged to the most wonderful man I have ever known! He is from Charleston, so we decided to move back home, get married and raise a family in the best town in America! (Okay, so I am excited to live here) We are getiing married in November of this year so I will be planning like a mad woman in the next few months. Keep checking back for all the details...

One thing I know for sure...Randy and I will be doing some kind of dance like the ones you'll see here. Check it out!

I have two cats whom I love a lot, infact they are like my kids. I call them Frankie and Howzers. These felines aren't treated as such, infact they are treated just like babies. They get to sleep wherever they please, even though that most often means on my head or on my feet. I haven't quite figured out how I can incorporate them into my wedding. Think they'd handle walking down the ailse to deliver the rings?

Probably not eh?

I can't get enough of these WEZL artists:

Little Big Town

Jack Ingram

Dierks Bentley

Love me some of this:

Brad Paisley at Austin City Limits

Opry Live

The Knot

Hatch Show Print

The Pioneer Woman Cooks!

The rivalry is brewing...or is it?

Jessica Simpson often cites legends like Willie Nelson and Dolly Parton as her musical heroes. But who among the newer country artists really impresses her these days? This is a rather suprising answer from the pop turned country star.

"I think it's impressive how many No. 1s Carrie Underwood has," Simpson said with a nervous laugh. "Her choice in songs is really great, and she has an incredible voice. As far as new people, she has one of the strongest voices out there."

So what about this supposed rivalry between the two songbirds? I reported to you yesterday that Jessica Simpson went on a Nashville Radio Station  to dispell the article in Allure magazine featuring Carrie Underwood.
Jessica admitted Carries's claim that Tony Romo still called her was upsetting, but now it looks like Jessica's laughing it off. Jessica said, quote, "I know it's not true -- I looked at his call log. I'm kidding!" Jessica went on to say, quote, "If Tony wanted to call her or be with her, he would." CLICK HERE for the video.

There's more to the story, though. A few weeks back, several media outlets speculated that Jessica was taking a dig at Carrie, a known vegetarian, when she wore a "Real Girls Eat Meat" t-shirt. Jessica denies these allegations, saying, quote, "I did not know she was a vegetarian and it was definitely not a diss at her by any means."

All this back and forth is a little confusing. I think Jessica Simpson is fighting for a career in country and the comment about being impressed with Carrie Underwood and her singing ability is just a new way to gain fans that she is seriously lacking. Just a thought!

Send your little lady to school!
Monday 08-25-2008 3:54pm ET
So now that school has officially started, I thought it a good time to share with you something I found online...The ABC's.

These are not your ordinary ABC's mind you. These ABC's teach in the way of Attitude, Beauty, Boys and Dreams. You think this sounds a little odd? Wait 'til you check out the official "LITTLE DIVA'S ABC's". That's right, I said Divas!!

I think my favorite is "J" for jewelry. Every blossoming Diva needs some bling!

"T" is Travel Unlimited, which makes sense when you consider that to be a Diva is to own at least 3 cars and a private jet. Maybe "C" should be for Carbon Footprint!

Sunday Rose Kidman Urban sighting!!!!
Tuesday 08-19-2008 1:06pm ET

Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman are in Sydney, Australia this week, introducing baby Sunday Rose to friends and family . . . and trying to avoid a media frenzy. The couple called into local radio station 2day FM and told the morning DJs of their wish for paparazzi to respectfully give them their space during their visit home with their 1-month-old little girl.

"I get the interest," Urban explained. "But at the same time, it's our little girl . . . And sometimes when people come right up in your face, you think, 'Good God, would you do that to anybody else's child?'"

"Keith and I are just appealing to the press to give us a little space, to be able to walk around and show the baby our town," echoed Kidman. "It's scary for her, she's tiny."

"But we're very pleased to be back with our little four-weeker," gushed Urban. "She's just awesome!"

Toby Keith on your candidates!
Tuesday 08-12-2008 3:03pm ET
This is why we should never listen to a celebrity when it comes to making a decision about who to vote for in a Presidential election! I particularly like the last line in this article..."Well said Toby!" Moron...

Toby Keith says he's still unsure whether he'll vote for Senator John McCain or Senator Barack Obama in November's presidential election. But, never one to shy away from controversial statements, Keith told conservative radio talk show host Glenn Beck recently that one of the reasons for Obama's popularity is that he "acts ... Caucasian."

"I think also that black people would say that he don't talk, act or carry himself as a black person," Keith stated on the program, to which Beck replied, "What does that even mean?"

"I don't know what that means," answered the country star. "I'm saying that's what I think that they would say. Even though the black society would pull for him, I still think that they think in the back of their mind that the only reason that he is in is because he talks, acts and carries himself as a Caucasian, but ... I think him and McCain are the two best choices, in my opinion, that we've had in years."

While he's often pegged as a a hardcore conservative -- and therefore likely to vote Republican -- Keith is actually a registered Democrat, though he's voted both ways in the past. Keith tells the San Jose Mercury News, "I voted for [Bill] Clinton twice, and I voted for [George W.] Bush twice. Looking back on it, they both made a lot of mistakes. But at the same time, with the people they were running against, I didn't feel like I had a choice."

No matter who Keith chooses this time, he wants his fans to choose the candidate they like, and not vote for someone just because he says so.

"Why anybody would care who Toby Keith voted for is beyond me," he says. "I'm really digging in and getting myself educated right now, but people need to go educate themselves and not listen to moron celebrities."
Taylor goes for the Gold!
Thursday 08-07-2008 11:09am ET
A brand-new tune from Taylor Swift is set to premiere on NBC's broadcast of the 2008 Olympic Games. 'Change' will be one of the songs played on daily video highlights during the Olympics. The song was hand selected by Team USA athletes and NBC for its lyrical content about overcoming challenges.

'Change' will be available on iTunes starting this Friday, with all proceeds benefiting Team USA. It will also appear on Swift's upcoming sophomore album, due for release this fall.
Introducing the Nashville Star!
Tuesday 08-05-2008 2:46pm ET

Melissa Lawson, a 32-year-old mother of five, is the new 'Nashville Star.' The Texas native beat fellow finalists Gabe Garcia and Shawn Mayer for the title Monday night.

Just after winning, Lawson debuted her new single, 'What If It All Goes Right.' The song will be released to country radio on Tuesday.

Lawson's grand prize is a recording contract with Warner Brothers Nashville, with her first album to be produced by 'Nashville Star' judge, John Rich. He predicted
back in June that Lawson would be one of the "main contenders."

But here's the real question: will Melissa Lawson have a real career in Country Music? Her counterparts Buddy Jewel, Brad Cotter and most recently Angela Hacker really haven't been heard from since.

It was Miranda Lambert who pushed through the boundries of country music... even when she was voted off Nashville Star! I hope the best for Melissa, then again with John Rich producing, I sure she will be alright. pretty much everything he touches turns to gold!
